• Community Safety and Support for Law Enforcement
• Faith in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior
Joyce Krawiec is well-known for being a strong conservative voice in Raleigh. This has not stopped her from racking up one of the best bipartisan records in the legislature.
Joyce has sponsored or co-sponsored many bills with support from her Democratic colleagues, including:
S.B. 445: Burt’s Law to make it easier to prosecute abusive staff in nursing homes, which passed both chambers of the legislature unanimously.
S.B. 676: Autism Health Insurance Coverage to require health insurance companies to cover autism treatments. This bill passed both Chambers of the legislature almost unanimously.
S.B. 824: Implementation of the Voter ID Constitutional Amendment with Senator Joel Ford (D-Mecklenburg) to protect election security.
Terri LeGrand has embraced the fringe left-wing of the Democrat Party. She supports radical policies like the Green New Deal and defunding the police. She leaves no room to negotiate with the other side. Members of her own Party do not even agree with most of her radical ideas.
Joyce has developed knowledge and relationships since 2014. She has more influence over legislation than the average member. Joyce uses her influence to secure additional funding for the local community, including schools. She is also able to pass bills that are requested by District 31 residents and local officials
Terri would have little influence over her colleagues to support bills that help District 31. 21 Democrats currently serve in the North Carolina Senate. As a freshman Senator, her bills would be the lowest priority.
Joyce Krawiec has lived in Kernersville for over forty years, raising two children with her husband Ray. They have literally helped build the community as commercial real estate developers.
Terri LeGrand admits that she moved to Kernersville to run for office. She moved here days before the deadline to file. She previously suffered a high-profile loss in 2018 again Rep. Debra Conrad in another district. This loss cost her and her supporters nearly $1 million dollars. She lost the race in a landslide.
Joyce was born into rural poverty. Her family could not afford to send her to college. She earned her education through community college, business experience, and as a real estate developer and entrepreneur.
She understands what it means to fight your way out. Joyce wants to make sure that every child has an opportunity to succeed.
Joyce is one of Raleigh’s strongest supporters of charter schools, private education vouchers, and home schooling. She believes that every parent should have a choice about where to send their children to school.
Joyce is also a major supporter of public schools. She voted to give North Carolina teachers over $9,000 in pay raises on average. The average public-school teacher in North Carolina makes over $54,000 annually.
In the last state budget, she used her influence in the legislature to fight for additional funding for Winston-Salem/ Forsyth County Schools and Davie County schools. This includes bringing home an additional $25 million for Winston-Salem/ Forsyth County Schools alone.
Terri LeGrand works at and attended Wake Forest University, where annual tuition and fees cost $55,000 annually. Tuition at Wake Forest is higher than the median District 31 household income.
In a recent interview with the Kernersville News, Terri LeGrand alluded to defunding opportunity scholarships for private education. She would only support opportunity scholarships if all of her other demands were met.
Nearly half of all jobs in North Carolina come from small businesses. Joyce is a small business owner with a strong record supporting low taxes and cuts to unnecessary regulations.
She is consistently supported by business groups like the Chamber of Commerce, the Home Builders Association, the REALTORS Association, the Retail Merchants Association, and the National Federation of Independent Businesses.
Terri supports radical ideas like the Green New Deal. Her policies would bankrupt small businesses and cause massive unemployment.
Joyce Krawiec is a strong supporter of law enforcement. She is a perennial favorite of law enforcement organizations like the Police Benevolent Association.
Terri LeGrand supports policies that would make our community less safe, like defunding the police. Destabilizing public safety would also destroy property values, the largest source of middle-class wealth.
Jesus Christ’s teachings are at the center of Joyce’s life. Before serving as a legislator she spent her free time supporting pro-life causes and candidates. She attends church in Kernersville every Sunday.
When a reporter asked if it was true that she was an atheist, Terri responded that it was a private matter. She does not want voters to know about her faith.
As the Democrat Party grows more extreme, more and more North Carolinians are saying this to themselves every day. In fact, the Democratic Party has lost nearly 200,000 voters in this state alone over the past four years. That is five times the population of Davie County. The Republican Party and Unaffiliated voters continue to grow.
Fortunately, North Carolina makes it easy to switch parties. Below is a link to a voter registration form from the North Carolina Board of Elections. Simply fill it out to update your registration. Section 7 will tell you to, “Provide your choice for political party affiliation.” Choose a political party of your choice, or select “Unaffiliated” if you prefer to be an independent voter. (I recommend “Republican Party,” but it is your call.)
